Cinco de Scrapo!

I was all set with a project to show you today, but turns out it's National Scrapbooking day, or "Cinco de Scrapo", so I said to myself "Self, why don't you challenge readers of your blog to scrapbook today, however they want, In their own style?" And then myself said back "Self, that's a great idea!". So, instead of a step by step project, I challenge you to make a party themed scrapbook page, to celebrate "Cinco de Scrapo."

Hello and welcome to "Artzy Alexa!" I created this blog to showcase some art away from My mom's art blog. From cake decorating to stamp carving, I dabble in all kinds of arty mediums. Every Saturday, I'll have a "How to" on a specific craft or other project. You never know what you might find here, so stop by often!

To start you off, here are a few things featured on Mom's blog:

I made these cupcakes for one of my mom's first Zentangle® classes. 

Stefana are a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding crown.
I made these for my cousin and her fiancé.

I made this cake for the county judging of my cake decorating project (4-H).
it was also my first cake with fondant. 

After placing first in county judging, I brought this cake to the Ohio state fair.
Sadly, I didn't win anything there, but it was still a lot of fun!

This is a drawing of the northern pintail duck that I entered in the
2011 Junior National Duck Stamp contest. I came in first in state!
(for the age category anyway.) My best friend also entered in 2011,
and she won honorable mention. How cool is that! This year, SHE
took first!
